We’re about to dive into 29 Pinterest tips that will seriously ramp up your brand visibility and make your content work harder for you. So grab your coffee (or matcha), and let’s get into it. This is a guide you’ll want to pin and revisit. 😉

Pinterest is hands-down one of the most powerful platforms for driving traffic and building an audience, especially for businesses and creators who want long-term growth without constantly being online.

Picture this: someone’s scrolling Pinterest, searching for tips on launching their dream brand, planning a wedding, or refreshing their social media strategy. And there you are: front and center with pins that grab their attention, solve their problems, and leave them clicking through to your site.

That’s the magic of Pinterest. It’s less about constantly creating new content and more about repurposing what you already have and letting your pins work for you 24/7.

As Pinterest evolves, so do the best practices for standing out.

Whether you’re new to Pinterest marketing or looking to refine your strategy, these 29 actionable Pinterest tips will help you boost your visibility, grow your audience, and convert saves into sales in 2025.

1. Niche-Down Your Bio for Authority

Your bio is your first impression, so make it clear who you help and what you do. Include keywords that speak directly to your audience and end with a call-to-action that invites them to download a freebie, visit your site, or book your services.

2. Use Keywords in Your Display Name and Bio

Pinterest works like a search engine, so keywords are EVERYTHING. Add relevant keywords to your display name, bio, and board titles. Instead of just using your name, include what you do, like Website Designer or Texas Elopement Photographer. This makes your profile easier to find when people search for related topics.

3. Feature Boards That Reflect Trends and Evergreen Content

Curate boards that highlight both trending and evergreen topics. Think boards like Slow Fashion Tips or Social Media Strategies for Business Owners. Use board descriptions to include keywords naturally and explain the value your board provides.

4. Showcase Solutions with Your Content

Pinterest is a positive platform. It’s kind of their thing. Instead of highlighting problems like, “Do you hate the Instagram alogrithm?” focus on the positive side: what people want instead of what they’re trying to escape.

For example, try messaging like, “Want to grow your audience without the social media burnout?” or “Ready to attract dream clients while you sleep?” Pinterest users are here to be inspired, plan their next move, and make their lives easier so meet them where they are with solutions and optimism, not stress and frustration.

5. Refresh Your Profile Cover Every Quarter

Your profile cover is what people call “above the fold” which means it’s the first thing people see when they land on your Pinterest profile. Make sure you mention what you do – and if you have current offers or a launch, use that profile cover space to showcase that!

6. Plan Seasonal Content 3–6 Months Ahead

Pinterest users plan early, so get your seasonal content out months before trends peak. If you’re targeting holiday shoppers or wedding season, create and schedule your pins well in advance. When we’re in Summer, it’s already Fall/Winter in Pinterest planning land.

7. Create Series-Based Content for Engagement

Break down big topics into multi-pin series, like Five Days to Launch Your Blog or Wedding Planning Made Easy. Make each pin standalone but connected, so users can save and follow for the full series.

As of the beginning of 2025, followers don’t currently matter much as a metric on Pinterest. Meaning, it doesn’t really make a difference in the performance of your account. But some Pinterest experts predict that it could be more important in the future, so a series could definitely help you get ahead of this and increase followers.

8. Lean Into Trends From TikTok and Instagram

Borrow trending topics, phrases, or aesthetics from TikTok and Instagram and turn them into Pinterest-friendly graphics. We love repurposing videos from TikTok and Instagram – and sometimes even repurpose Instagram Stories, because they give a more authentic feel which pinners seem to be loving more and more.

9. Embrace the Zero-Click Pin Strategy

Zero-click pins deliver value right on the image without requiring users to click through. Create infographics, checklists, or templates that users can screenshot or save. End with calls-to-action like Save This for Later to encourage interaction without a click. Why? Because saves matter to grow your Pinterest account!

10. Focus on Visual Trends for 2025

Take a look at the top performing content – what’s doing well? I always recommend sticking with your branding but some people see really good results with doing whatever is standing out on the platform!

You want to stand out by being different on the platform while still seeing what your ideal audience is saving!

11. Avoid Cursive Fonts, Stick to Bold and Clean

Cursive fonts might look fancy, but they’re hard to read and Pinterest doesn’t do as well with indexing them. Use clean, bold fonts and make sure text overlays are large enough to scan quickly while scrolling. Feel free to use cursive fonts as an accent but avoid overdoing it.

12. Create 10 Pin Designs Per Blog Post or Page

One piece of content can fuel multiple pins. Design at least 10 pins for every blog post, sales page, or product to test different styles, headlines, and colors. This expands your reach without creating brand-new content.

13. Split-Test Design Variations to See What Works

Try out different designs, fonts, colors, and calls-to-action to see what performs best. Use Pinterest Analytics to track results and double down on the designs that get the most saves and clicks.

14. Use Stats and Numbers in Headlines

People love saving pins that include quick stats, tips, or relatable quotes. Highlight data points or write listicles (like this post) that resonate with your audience and make your pin feel valuable at a glance.

15. Add Specific CTAs to Every Pin

Replace generic calls-to-action with phrases like Save This Checklist or Click to Download Your Free Guide. Be clear about what the user gets and make the action feel easy and worthwhile.

16. Experiment With New Templates Regularly

Update your pin designs by testing new templates every few months. Use tools like Canva to quickly customize layouts and see which styles perform best for your audience. It’s easier than ever to shake up your pin designs.

17. Optimize Pins for Search Intent

Use keywords that match what people are searching for, like wedding budgeting checklists or Instagram Story templates. Add these naturally in your pin titles and descriptions – and image titles!

18. Add Keywords to Pin Alt Text for SEO

Posting images without text? Use alt text to describe the image with keywords that reflect your audience’s search terms. Update older pins with stronger alt text to improve their performance. Here’s an example of an alt text for a rustic wedding in a barn:

Alt Text: Rustic barn wedding ceremony setup with wooden beams, string lights, and floral arrangements featuring greenery and white roses. Wooden chairs line the aisle, leading to a floral arch with eucalyptus and baby’s breath.

19. Repurpose and Update Top-Performing Pin

Instead of recycling old pins, create updated versions with fresh designs, color combos and keywords. Test new calls-to-action and graphics to breathe life into high-performing content.

20. Use AI to Write Pin Descriptions Quicker

Writing descriptions doesn’t have to take hours. Use AI tools like ChatGPT to create keyword-rich descriptions in seconds. Prompt it with keywords and style preferences to generate text you can tweak.

21. Pin 3-5 Times Per Day for Consistency

Pinterest rewards consistency, so aim to pin daily. Use schedulers like Tailwind to keep your queue full and save time by batching your designs. The amount doesn’t matter as much as the consistency does!

22. Repurpose Instagram Content to Pinterest

Turn Instagram reels, carousels, and captions into Pinterest graphics and pins. Screenshot tweets or repurpose video tips to reach a wider audience with minimal effort.

23. Add Pin Graphics to Blogs With a Pin Button

Embed Pinterest-friendly graphics into blog posts and add a Pin It button. This makes it easy for readers to share your content and helps grow your reach.

24. Add a CTA for a Funnel to Generate Leads

Make your pins part of your funnel by linking them to lead magnets, free webinars, or opt-in offers. Use CTAs like Download Your Free Guide to move Pinterest users into your email list.

Personally, we recommend that you have opt-ins on blog posts and CTAs in there too – but be sure to showcase them in your pin designs to encourage your ideal audience to click through and grab your download!

25. Use Video Pins for Tutorials and Previews

Video pins stand out in the feed. Use them for quick tutorials, product demos, or sneak peeks to grab attention and boost engagement. Already have successful TikTok videos? Try repurposing them!

26. Test Promoted Pins for Faster Growth

If you need quick visibility on your top performing content, experiment with Pinterest ads. Promote your top-performing pins to target specific audiences and keywords.

27. Engage With Comments and Saves to Build Relationships

Reply to comments, thank users for saves, and encourage interaction. Engagement shows Pinterest you’re active and builds trust with potential followers.

28. Use Analytics to Track Trends and Results

Regularly check Pinterest Analytics to see which pins and boards are driving the most traffic. Focus on what’s working and tweak what’s not.

29. Delete Pins Without Triggering Spam Alerts

Be strategic about deleting pins. Don’t overdo it, but it can sometimes be necessary as you revive an old account with irrelevant or underperforming pins. Space out deletions over time, or archive boards instead of mass-deleting to avoid being flagged as spam.
