Your dream clients are visiting your site—here’s how to make them stay and more importantly, book you as their dream wedding vendor.
Let’s be real: Pinterest is only as powerful as the experience you’re sending people to.
You can create the best pins in the world—pins that make your dream clients take action—but if they land on a website that’s confusing, outdated, or just doesn’t speak to their needs? They’ll bounce so fast.
Before you dive into Pinterest, you want to make sure your website is functioning to get results. And it doesn’t have to take long. Give me 30 minutes of your time, and let’s makeover your website.
1. Swap your intro line (10 Minutes)
Before someone scrolls your website, what’s the first thing they see?
Does the first lines of my website clearly say who you are and what you do? Swap generic intros like “Creating Unforgettable Moments” for something bold and clear:
“Luxury Wedding Planning in New Jersey”
“Elegant Photography for Unforgettable Intimate Weddings”
“Seamless Day-Of Wedding Coordination for the Busy Professional Couple”
Think: Location, niche, service offering, client pain point/desires.
These should be present at the beginning of your homepage. This isn’t just for client experience – it’s an SEO best practice to help you rank on Google.
2. Test Your Links (10 Minutes)
I can’t tell you how often we see clients with broken links scattered across their websites—and honestly, I’ve been guilty of it too so no judgment! Consider this a friendly reminder to click through all your links. Make sure they’re leading exactly where you want them to go and aren’t outdated. It’s a quick fix that can make a huge difference for your visitors (and your credibility!).
Here’s how to fix them:
Start with your pages: Click through your main navigation (Home, About, Services, Portfolio, Blog, Contact). These should all work perfectly and lead to the right pages.
Check your social platforms: If you’re using icons in your footer, heading or sidebar, these tricky little things are often not working.
Test Internal Links: If you have blog posts linking to other pages on your site, make sure they aren’t leading to a 404 page. For example: Does your “Read More About My Process” link in a blog actually go to your Services page? Are all “View My Portfolio” buttons going to the right gallery?
Check External Links: If you link to outside resources (like wedding vendor partners or features on wedding blogs), ensure those links still work.
Pro Tip: Use a free tool like Broken Link Checker to speed up the process if your site has tons of pages.
3. Add a Call-to-Action to Your Blogs (10 Minutes)
One of the biggest oopsies is putting time and energy into crafting blog posts and then you forget to actually drive them to your services? While it may seem obvious that someone can learn about your services on other pages of your website, don’t expect people to! Tell them exactly where to go in order to buy from you.
Sprinkle CTAs Throughout Your Blog Posts: Don’t wait until the end—most people won’t scroll that far.
- Example for Wedding Planners:
- After a tip about choosing a wedding theme: “Need help narrowing down your ideas? Let’s plan your perfect wedding together—check my availability today!”
- Example for Photographers:
- Midway through a blog about wedding photo trends: “Love these ideas? See how I capture moments like this in my portfolio.”
- Example for Florists:
- Following a section on floral trends: “Ready to make your wedding unforgettable? Let’s chat about your dream flowers.”
End Strong with a Compelling CTA: Wrap up every blog post with a clear direction:
- “Inspired by what you’ve read? Reach out today to start planning your dream wedding.”
- “Let’s turn your vision into reality. Schedule a consultation now!”
There’s so more we could tackle here, but I promised you 30 minutes – so let me know if you want a part two, and we’ll do a second round of audits once you’ve made these updates!
